Travel
Northwestern Student Group Travel Resources
SOA has information available for student organizations whose activities include travel of all varieties. Resources and policies are divided into sections for:
- local (non-overnight) travel,
- domestic overnight ravel,
- international travel (re-directs to Office of Global Safety & Security).
Reporting an Incident While Traveling
Safety and well-being of trip participants is the highest priority for Northwestern.
Emergencies and University Resources
In the event of emergency while traveling domestically, students are expected to call 911 for local response. Students are expected to report any 911 calls to their student org advisor within a reasonable period of time via appropriate means of communication. For assistance navigating available resources from Northwestern University, students call the Administrator on Call 24/7 including weekends and holidays.
Personal Conduct Expectations
Student trip participants are expected to report any violations of policies in the Northwestern Student Handbook online and provide as much detail related to the incident as possible. Reports may be submitted by any individual (including anonymously) at any time and will be routed to the appropriate university administrator to respond (unless submitted anonymously). All overnight domestic travel requires participants to complete Behavior Agreement document and pass along to trip captain to submit to advisor as part of the pre-departure process
